Undine Salvage, a division of Undine Marine Industries Co., Ltd. successfully completed the salvage operation for the Chinese ship, M/V Zhou Hang 2 (4,675 ton class bulk carrier) that had stranded off the coast of Ulsan on November 15, 2013 due to bad weather condition.

Pulling off an entire salvage operation of which phases range from initial hull and bottom inspection, oil control, removal and disposal of fishing nets around, through lightering, refloating, and tow to a deep sea for bottom inspection and redelivery, and through to emergent water tightening works on the damaged bottom, Undine Salvage has proved its core competencies.

Among above said services, it goes without saying that refloating the vessel was very challenging and considered as a cream of the entire salvage phases. Yet, this operation was successfully carried out with minimum time consuming that started off on December 5 and was wrapped up in the morning of December 06. After this important operation, vessel redelivery was promptly made at a designated anchorage by the arrangement of the ship owner, and then the vessel was safely towed to the new port of Ulsan.

As the only domestic ISU (International Salvage Unit) full member and IMCA (International Marine Contractors' Associate) member in Marine / Diving / ROV sectors, Undine Salvage made successfully its way through international harsh competition to win the operation and finally won the confirmation of PICC(People’s Insurance Company of China) and P&I Club for successful work completion.
